Now, I have been resting and doing the things I wanted to do while I was working. I learned about these breaks when reading The 4-Hour Workweek. Tim Ferriss proposes sabbaticals or taking a large chunk of time off work. I didn’t think that was possible until I took long breaks between jobs. It takes a lot of planning and saving, but it’s a non-negotiable for me, so I always find a way. I might not be able to take a full sabbatical, but I can take time off between work. I can work at places that value work-life balance. I can use all of my PTO. I can make it work. It helps me quiet my mind, get centered on what I need, and reset before jumping fully into my next ambition.
